Abstract:【Abstract】Recently, the prevalence of human papillomavirus(HPV) infection in head and neck squamous cancers has shown an upward trend, especially in the oropharynx squamous carcinoma. This subset of head and neck cancers possesses distinct clinical and laboratory features and outcome, and is particulary common in individuals who lack the traditional risk factors of tobacco and alcohol abuse. The biological markers and treatment of HPV associated head neck cancers are hot topic in current international research.
