Studies have shown that CCDC6 plays a vital role in response to DNA damage repair and regulation of cell cycle and apoptosis. As a tumor suppressor, CCDC6 could inhibit tumorgenesis, tumor migration and invasion in thyroid carcinoma, lung cancer, colorectal cancer, prostate cancer and cervical cancer. Intensively study the role and mechanism of CCDC6 in carcinomas will provide a new thought for tumor diagnosis, treatment and clinical prognosis evaluation.
