N6-methyladenosine (m6A) methylation modification is defined as the methylation at the N6position of adenosine. This dynamic process is regulated by writer, eraser and reader. Accumulating evidence indicates that m6A methylation modification is involved in the initiation and development of various digestive system neoplasms including proliferation, invasion, metastasis and chemoresistance. A further understanding about the role of m6A methylation modification in digestive system neoplasms will benefit the development of a novel precise diagnostic and therapeutic strategy and finally improve the overall prognosis of patients.
