MIF can promote tumorigenesis by directly inducing oncogene transformation, stimulating cell division, as well as indirectly inhibiting tumor apoptosis, promoting its invasiveness and angiogenesis. MIF-targeted biological therapy may become a new therapeutic strategy for malignant tumor.
