It may play an important role in self-renewal ability and proliferation of stem cell. At present, studies show that Bmi-1 is highly expressedin a variety of solid tumors, which can be regarded as one of the markers of cancer stem cells and has a close relation to the cancer development and progression and radiation resistance. It will provide an important target gene for the treatment of malignant tumors.
