Abstract:Biliary tract cancer (BTC), which is a malignant tumor which originates from biliary epithelia. Most patients with BTCpresentlocally advanced stage or distant metastasis. Although the standard systemic chemotherapy approaches are emerging, the prognosis remains poor. Combination of gemcitabine and cisplatin can significantly prolong survival for patients, which is the standard treatment for locally advanced or metastatic BTCs. Application of molecularly targeted therapies in advanced BTC is the new trend of clinical research.
