Abstract:18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography-computed tomography (18F-FDG PET-CT) is the integration of functional imaging and anatomic information, which is found to be particularly valuable in TNM staging, tumor volume delineating, posttreatment assessment, identification of recurrent and residual nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). The combination of 18F-FDG PET-CT with other image technologies, different tracer agents, and specific molecular biomarkers can improve the application value of 18F-FDG PET-CT in NPC.
