Abstract:The treatment of esophageal cancer is difficult in clinic. Recently, the development of immune checkpoint inhibitors has brought the immunotherapies to a new age. In predicting the curative effect of biomarkers, programmed cell deathligand 1, tumor mutation burden and microsatellite instability could promisingly predict the effect of the immune checkpoint inhibitors. Various immune checkpoint inhibitors are emerging and the combination of immunotherapy have shown a great applied potential in a series of clinical trials of esophageal cancer.
