Abstract:Cancer stem cells (CSC) play a crucial role in the tumor angiogenesis. Angiogenic factors and hypoxia mediate the process. CSC can differentiate into vascular endothelial cells and participate in the formation of vasculogenic mimicry, which may be one of the key factors in the initiation and progression of tumors. Indepth studies of the roles of CSC in tumor angiogenesis might help provide the basis for developing more effective therapeutic drug targets.
