Abstract:B-cell specific moloney leukemia virus insertion site 1 (Bmi-1)gene is a core member of the polycomb group genes, considered to be a proto-oncogene; Bmi-1 plays an important role in cell selfrenewal, proliferation and apoptosis. Several studies have shown that Bmi-1 is highly expressed in non-small cell lung cancer; furthermore, the expression level of Bmi-1 is closely related to the occurrence, development, incursion and prognosis of nonsmall cell lung cancer. Bmi-1 is expected to become a novel tumor molecular marker, and provides a new direction for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer.
