Abstract:

As one of the common complications during pregnancy, gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) can result in structural and functional pathological changes of fetal heart, which has already been demonstrated by some studies. There is no doubt that the early detection of fetal heart function damage in GDM with in-time effective intervention has great clinical significance. Ultrasound belongs to a relatively non-invasive examination method, which can judge the intrauterine state of fetus and evaluate its growth and development. As the ultrasound medicine is continuously developing, detecting fetal heart function damage at the early stage by new ultrasound technology is no longer a difficult task. Consequently, this thesis reviews the research progress related to new ultrasound techniques in evaluating fetal heart function in those patients with GDM, in which the advantages and disadvantages of various techniques are also compared, thus offering new methods for early clinical evaluation of fetal heart function in patients with GDM.
